Dixon Drums and Hardware at NAMM 2015 (VIDEO)

In this video from NAMM 2015, Dixon drums brand manager, Jim Uding, shows us an assortment of sets, hardware, and snare drums available from Dixon for 2015.

First up is Gregg Bissonette’s Artisan series Ultra Maple drumkit in sea-foam green finish, with 4 mm, 4-ply maple shells, and K series hardware.

Next are Gregg’s signature snare drums. The first is a Hammered Brass beaded snare with black-nickel plating. This 6.5×14 drum has an adjustable butt plate and traditional chrome tube lugs. The second signature snare is also black-nickel plated, but it has a flat, steel 6.5×14 shell and conventional lugs, plus an adjustable butt plate. The other new Artisan Signature snare shown this year is Simple Minds drummer Mel Gaynor’s 6×14 maple drum wrapped in zebrawood.

Next is Dixon’s all-in-one traveler, the Jet Set Plus kit. This is a multifunctional kit that can be played standing up or sitting down. All of the brackets are mounted on the center of the shell, so the drums can be flipped over for an alternative surface. The Jet Set Plus kit fits inside the optional carrying case for easy transport.

There are also new finishes for the Dixon Artistan kits, such as the traditional maple shell with an American rose gum veneer and the tamo ash with a reverse-screen treatment in “mystic river blue.” The Dixon Spark, Fuse, and Blaze lines also have new finishes. Advertisement
