Meinl Percussion at NAMM 2015 (VIDEO)

In this video from NAMM 2015, Meinl’s German Baratto gives us the rundown on many of the new Meinl hand percussion instruments that are available for 2015.

First up are new finishes for the Headliner Designer, Woodcraft, and Traditional String series cajons. Then there are new medium-size African djembes to compliment the introduction of last years’ larger sizes. For shakers, Meinl has introduced a three pack of cajon-shaped shakers, as well as the finger-worn Motion shaker. Finger-worn castanets and compact foot tambourines are new too.

Meinl has added three Peruvian-made cajons to the Artisan Series and two Traditional pandeiros. The 10″ pandeiro has an ABS-plastic shell with a Napa head, and the 12″ has a wood shell with a True Fell synthetic head. Holders are included on both. Meinl also offers a 7.5″ mountable cajon snare.

Meinl has introduced a 4.25×7.75 mini darbuka that is available in four finishes. Staying in the “mini” world, the company is also offering mini cajons, which have some of the same finishes available on Meinl’s full-size cajons. Advertisement
