Evans Drumheads at NAMM 2015 (VIDEO)

This video from NAMM 2015, Ben Smith, percussion products specialist for Evans Drumheads, takes us through the new offerings from the company for 2015.

First up is the EMAD system for 16″ bass drum heads, available with a bass drum counter hoop and with a tom counter hoop. In addition to the EMAD, Evans also offers the EQ4 and Coated G1 in the 16″ size. For the resonant side, Evans has the EQ3 non-ported in smooth white and smooth black. These heads are designed to give a tonal balance by cutting out some of the high-frequency response so that it doesn’t sound thin and papery.

Next is the Reso 7 line of drumheads. These are 7-mil coated resonants designed to provide a shorter sustain and get the fullness of sound that you’d normally get from a 10-mil or 12-mil head, but with a little more control.

The NAMM Show 2015, a trade-only event for the music products industry, was held January 22-25 in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center.
