Modern Drummer speaks to the drummer with Jane’s Addiction following a series of concerts dedicated to the band’s classic album Nothing’s Shocking. Perkins gives insight into the group’s creative process and shares what it was like coming up on the scene that not only spawned his group’s success, but also that of the Minutemen, Guns N’ Roses, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. At the time of Nothing’s Shocking, Jane’s Addiction consisted of Perkins on drums, Perry Farrell on vocals, Dave Navarro on guitar, and Eric Avery on bass.
