CSNY Drummer Dallas Taylor Passes

CSNY Drummer Dallas Taylor PassesDallas Taylor, who appeared on Crosby, Stills, and Nash’s seminal self-titled debut album, as well as the equally iconic first album by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Déjà Vu, has passed of undisclosed causes. Taylor first gained prominence with the West Coast psychedelic band Clear Light, then, after an introduction by the Lovin’ Spoonful’s John Sebastian, developed a tight working relationship with Stephen Stills, first in CSN, then on several of the singer/guitarist’s solo albums as well as his well-regarded group Manassas. Taylor spent much of his musical career battling substance abuse, which was well documented in his 1995 memoire, Prisoner of Woodstock. He later worked as a substance abuse interventionist.
