The Philly Drum Project recently moved its monthly “Beats, Brews, & Banter” drum hang from the RBar to Boot & Saddle on 1131 S. Broad Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The next meeting takes place tonight, August 4th, at 7 pm and will feature free jazz and fusion drummer G. Calvin Weston. This event is strictly twenty-one and over, and PDP is suggesting that all attendees bring their own drum throne, since seating is limited in the venue.

Free jazz and fusion drummer G. Calvin Weston has recorded and toured with Ornette Coleman, the Lounge Lizards, and a duo with Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood. Weston currently plays with Treasures of the Spirit, a tribute to Billy Cobham and Mahavishnu Orchestra.
