Moose of Bullet For My Valentine (VIDEO)

Moose of Bullet For My Valentine

Hey, this is Moose from Bullet For My Valentine. It was fun to film a drum tutorial for Modern Drummer’s blog. I really enjoyed doing it! Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever done anything like this before, and it was nice to do something different. Hope you like it.

Our fourth studio record, Temper Temper, came out on February 12 on RCA Records. We recorded it as we were writing it—it was kind of fun to do it that way. I’d describe the sensation like what it would feel like to drive a car with a blindfold on. But I feel we nailed it on this album. Slower tempos make the songs sound bigger and fatter. Can’t wait for you all to hear it!

      It’s 2 beats of (8) 16ths, 2 beats of the Herta hybrid rudiment, 2 16th notes

Kai is correct on the sticking, check out the top exercise on this:

This guy is the reason I started to learn how to play drums open-handed. The way he switches from left hand leading to the right, is fucking brilliant.
